Father,
We are here to be with You today. Bless our worship!
We believe that You are, and that You are a Rewarder of those who diligently seek You. We seek You today, Father.
Holy Spirit, guide us into the presence of God, and help us to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
In Jesus name,
Amen!
“Thus says the LORD, Who makes a way through the sea
And a path through the mighty waters…” (Isaiah 43:16)
Life is full of trials and struggles. Along with a loving Father, there exists an enemy whose dominion is this world, and who seeks to hinder and destroy those who would worship the true God. Until the end of time, when God redeems all things, we will live in a world under this curse.
But we serve a God who promises to make a way for us through the difficulties of life. The Bible is full of God’s assurances for provision, for protection, and for direction in our lives. Here are just a few:
• “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)
• “Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19)
• “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
• “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)
When we find ourselves weighed down by the troubles of life, we must remember that God has always been in the business of making a way out for His people. And He always will.
Remember also that God doesn’t just know our struggles in some theoretical, “God knows everything” sense. The Bible says that Jesus became fully human, and as a man He experienced life in every way just as we do. Jesus told His disciples, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16.33)
When the Lord makes a way for you, it will very likely be a way that you never would have thought of, and will require you to trust Him. Charles Spurgeon said, “The Lord will make a way for you where no foot has gone before. That which, like a sea, threatens to drown you will be a highway for your escape.”
If you find yourself in a lost place, unable to find help, and without hope, listen for the voice of Jesus.
Sit at His feet and be taught by Him. He will make a way for you!
Our worship song today is “Way Maker” by Leeland. As you listen and worship, think about these things:
- Remember those trials God has already brought you through, and thank Him!
- Think on the promises of God, and trust Him!
- Believe in the goodness of God, and serve Him!
